The year was 2008 (I think)

I had just bought my 2nd Kid Rock CD called "Rock n Roll Jesus"
(the 1st one was Devil Without a Cause)

I bought Rock n Roll Jesus cuz I had already heard a couple of pretty cool songs from it (cool to me anyway)...One called "Amen" and another one called "So Hott"

When I popped the CD in, another song jumped out at me that I thought was kinda cool called "All Summer Long"

Musically it's a combination of "Werewolves of London" by the legendary (in some circles) Warren Zevon and "Sweet Home Alabama" by the also legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd band....The song chugs along nicely even with some hastily thrown together and regurgitated lyrics by Mr. Rock.

When I first heard it I thought, "Well that was fun.".

I didn't think it was a work of art by any means, but I liked it ok.

Not long after that, Dawn came to visit me and I burned her a copy of the CD (at her request) and as I was driving her home, God as my witness, we heard "All Summer Long" on a country music radio station of all places.

As it turned out, country music radio stations across the USA made that song a pretty big hit...... and to this day I'm wondering just what fat cat Kid Rock had to blow to make that happen, cuz a country song it aint, and it never will be.
